there’s something really funny about how guild wars treats necromancy. other fantasy games are like “ooooh raising the dead? that’s a crime against the circle of life and death. it’s strictly forbidden. horrifying. terrible.”

but in tyria and elona and shit it’s just like “oh I’m gonna raise the dead and have horrifying minions follow me around” and it’s just like whatever

i walk around major cities with these guys following me around and everyone’s like cool do you wanna buy something or not

narratively in gw2 the only necromancer that gets shit on is joko and it’s not even because he raises the dead it’s just cause he’s a fucking dick about it.

the evil magic users are usually ones using bright purple butterflies. 

I like how in Diablo it’s its own religion. Like a Necromancer walks through the street with skeletons all around him and children start complaining so the parents have to be like, “Now now, that’s his religion. We can’t be intolerant.”
