So I noticed that post/PSA @commander-titania made about Canach’s glow color changing, and I chatted with some friends about the implications of the glow change. @commander-daine mentioned that perhaps it was a deliberate change, something relating to his character changing over LW4? I decided to do some detective work of my own and investigate prior instances! After all, the last time they changed his glow color, it was in LW3 and was retroactive! He was no longer orange anywhere, only the bright green! The same thing happened to Trahearne and other big Sylvari NPCs, right?
Lo and behold, upon doing Party Politics (LW2) and Rally to Maguuma (HoT) he was INDEED STILL GREEN!? This seems to indicate that this was a deliberate change. I got even more curious, and checked Thunderhead Peaks, and–
Terrifying eyeball AND THE NEW PALE ORANGE?! I didn’t have the time to find shots from PoF or earlier LW4, but it seems that yes, this was a deliberate change, and doesn’t fully retroactively change his glow! I plan to try to check some LW3 instances (maybe the end of episode 1?) and some PoF/early LW4, but if anyone beats me to it, let me know!
